Rowing Celtic longboats on the Menai Strait with Beaumaris Rowing Club what a great way to start the New Year !
We were on the water at 9am on New Years Day ( who needs more than 5 hours sleep? ) to row with Beaumaris Rowing Club on the Menai Straits. This stunning stretch of water has views of the Anglesey coast on one side and the Snowdon mountain range on the other. What better way to welcome a New Year than to row a Celtic longboat. These lovely four oared 24ft boats are perfect for coastal rowing and handle rougher waters well. However as you can see we were untroubled by waves.
